Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Scope, LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates the Scope application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Name, email address, and password (stored securely/hashed) when you create an account.

Uploaded content: Drawing files, images, and PDFs you upload to the Service, along with any project or sheet metadata you provide (project names, addresses, sheet numbers, revision numbers).

Usage data: Information about how you interact with the Service, including analysis requests made, features used, and timestamps.

Payment information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by a third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe). We do not directly store full payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including analyzing drawings you upload.
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests.
  • Improve and develop the Service.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How Your Uploaded Drawings Are Processed

This section explains, in plain terms, what happens to a drawing after you upload it:

  • Uploaded drawings are stored in our secure cloud database (currently provided by Supabase).
  • To generate an analysis, drawing images are sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic, maker of Claude) for processing. Anthropic processes this content to generate the analysis results returned to you.
  • We do not use your uploaded drawings to train our own AI models. Content sent to our AI provider is processed under that provider's API terms for the purpose of returning your analysis results.
  • We retain uploaded drawings and analysis results for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service, unless you delete them or close your account.
  • You may request deletion of your uploaded content and account data at any time by contacting jcberry724@gmail.com.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with the following categories of third-party service providers, solely as needed to operate the Service:

  • Cloud database and storage (currently Supabase) — stores account data, project data, and uploaded drawings.
  • AI processing (currently Anthropic) — processes drawing content to generate analysis output.
  • Hosting (currently Render) — hosts the backend service that runs analyses.
  • Payment processing (currently Stripe) — processes subscription payments.

We do not sell your personal information or uploaded content to third parties.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including access controls and encrypted storage where supported by our service providers. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and uploaded content for as long as your account remains active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information.
  • Export your data.

To exercise these rights, contact us at jcberry724@gmail.com.

8. Confidentiality of Project Data

We understand that drawings you upload may contain information belonging to your employer or clients, and may be commercially sensitive. We do not review, share, or use the content of your uploaded drawings for any purpose other than providing the Service to you, except as described in this policy or as required by law.

You are responsible for ensuring you have authorization to upload any drawing that is not solely your own.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
